Step back in time at the Fort Hays Old West Town Square. First, fill your belly with our all-you-can-eat cowboy pancakes for just 99 cents.
Stroll along the boardwalk and take a free, self-guided tour to get inside information of the Dances With Wolves film set and the South Dakota movie museum. Shop at the best gift shops in the Black Hills and discover how to make a Rope out of toilet paper!! And of course ride our one of a kind Roller Coaster where you can take aim with a LED six shooter at fiber glass buffalo!
Come back in the evening for our Chuckwagon Supper & Branson-style Music Variety Show featuring a hearty chuckwagon menu and the most entertaining show in the Black Hills!

Arrive early seven days a week for our 99 cent all-you-can-eat cowboy pancakes. Follow the boot prints through the door, grab a home-made tin plate from the stack, and give your request to the cowboys and cowgirls who are eager to serve you. Our cook arrives before the sun to start baking biscuits & gravy and sausage, so they’re fresh and hot. There’s plenty to eat, so don’t be shy!

Released on Nov. 21, 1990, Dances with Wolves won Best Picture and six additional Academy Awards. In 2007, Dances with Wolves was selected for preservation in the United States by the National Film Registry and the Library of Congress for being culturally significant.
You can leisurely browse the film set on a free self-guided tour and stand where John J. Dunbar (Kevin Costner) was given his new orders to Fort Sedgwick. Feel free to take photos and enjoy the South Dakota Film Museum where you will find the remnants of over 50 movies on display that were filmed in South Dakota.
