MOUNT RUSHMORE TOURS — ADA & WEBSITE ACCESSIBILITY STATEMENT
Last Updated: November 2025
Mount Rushmore Tours is committed to creating an experience that is welcoming, respectful, and accessible for all guests. This statement outlines our physical accessibility accommodations, mobility requirements for bus tours, and our ongoing efforts to maintain an accessible website for all visitors.
1. PHYSICAL ACCESSIBILITY
Motorcoach Accessibility
Mount Rushmore Tours operates standard motorcoach buses. These vehicles are not equipped with wheelchair lifts or ramps. To safely board and ride the bus, guests must be able to:
-
Climb several steps to enter the motorcoach
-
Stand and take steps independently, or do so with help from someone in their party
-
Transfer from a mobility device to a bus seat without mechanical assistance
If a guest is unable to transfer independently from a wheelchair to a motorcoach seat, they will not be able to board the bus.
Storage of Mobility Devices
-
Foldable manual wheelchairs, walkers, and similar mobility aids may be stored in the luggage compartment.
-
The driver may assist with lifting or storing equipment when possible.
-
Powered scooters, non-folding wheelchairs, or oversized devices cannot be accommodated, as they cannot be secured or stored safely.
Service Animals
Mount Rushmore Tours welcomes ADA-defined service animals trained to perform specific tasks for individuals with disabilities.
Please note:
-
Emotional support animals and pets are not permitted.
-
Service animals must remain under control at all times during the tour.
On-Site Accessibility
Some tour stops and walking areas may include:
-
Gravel, dirt, or uneven surfaces
-
Outdoor paths and mild inclines
-
Historic or natural terrain
-
Narrow walkways at certain locations
Our team is happy to offer guidance on which stops may be easier to navigate for guests using mobility devices.
2. WEBSITE ACCESSIBILITY
Mount Rushmore Tours is committed to providing a website that is accessible and inclusive for all users, including visitors who use assistive technologies such as screen readers, screen magnifiers, voice recognition software, or alternative input devices.
We actively work to:
-
Improve overall site structure for easier navigation
-
Ensure headings, images, and links follow accessibility best practices
-
Maintain readable text contrast and legible typography
